Alat Uji keretakan merupakan alat uji untuk mengukur retakan baik kedalaman maupun lebar keretakan. Dalam beberapa bidang diantaranya alat uji keretakan dirancang untuk mendeteksi ada tidaknya kecacatan (flaw).
Salah satunya dengan cara menggunakan deteksi suara (ultrasound) yang dapat mendeteksi saat material tersebut diuji.Retak sendiri didefinisikan sebagai dari satu kesatuan yang rusak dan membentuk garis terbelah pada material tertentu dan dapat menjadi indikator ketidak sempurnaan suatu material yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas dan kekuatan produk material itu sendiri.
Alat Uji keretakan digunakan sebagai alat yang dapat memberikan data informasi nilai dari retakan yang terjadi, sehingga data dapat digunakan untuk kepentingan analisa kualitas dan kekuatan material sehingga pengguna dapat menentukan standar yang diinginkan.
